5-Ingredient Peanut Butter M&M Bars

Adapted from Rachel Cooks
What could be easier than a 5-ingredient dessert?  Pretty much nothing.  The added bonus to the ease of this recipe is that these bars taste great!  I cut back a bit on the amount of brown sugar called for in the original recipe because I don't like my desserts super sweet, and they still turned out to be delicious.

This dough is quite thick, so it takes a little effort to get it combined, but it was nothing I couldn't handle!  They are well worth a little effort and overall these are simple to make!  They are also a great dessert to take to a summer holiday party- no refrigeration required. And I'm willing to bet they would be great with Reese's Pieces in place of the M&Ms.  Mmm....

Ingredients:

3/4 cup peanut butter
2 large eggs
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups Bisquick (I used the heart-healthy version)
Approx. 9 oz. of plain M&Ms

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray an 8-inch square pan with cooking spray.  In a large bowl, gently whisk eggs; stir in peanut butter until smooth.

Add brown sugar and mix until combined. Next add Bisquick, stirring well to combine. You will likely need to use your hands for this step because this makes a very thick dough. Again using your hands, fold in M&Ms. You may need to push some onto the top of the dough once it is in the pan.

Spread mixture evenly into pan. Bake 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.  Allow to cool completely before cutting into equal-sized bars.
Yield: depends on the size bars you cut.
