Grilled Ham, Brie & Apple Sandwiches

It seems silly calling this sandwich a "recipe".  It's so simple- a slightly fancier version of grilled cheese.  But it's so delicious, I just had to share it.  And being that April is National Grilled Cheese month, this is the perfect time to do so!

The first time I had this sandwich was during my vacation to Savannah, Georgia last fall.  The ham, brie and green apple worked so well together, I just had to make my own!  It was creamy, gooey, and delicious!

Ingredients:

Your favorite bread (I used French bread)
Lean shaved ham
Brie cheese
Granny Smith apple
Butter or margarine

Directions:

Lay half of the bread slices on a flat surface.  Layer brie, ham, and apple on each slice (I found it easier to flatten the brie and place on the bread, rather than trying to spread it on the bread).  Top each sandwich with second piece of bread; butter top pieces of bread.

Place buttered sides of sandwiches on hot griddle or pan; while that side is toasting, butter the other side of bread slices.  Once toasted side of bread is golden and crisp, flip sandwiches over and toast until golden and brie is melted.  Serve warm and enjoy!

Yield:  depends on the amount of ingredients used.

  1. I haven't made a solid sandwich in a long time. This post makes me want to run to the store, but some gluten-free bread & lots of cheese, and break out the George Foreman! Thanks for sharing this one!
